Houston Area Metropolitan High School Swimming and Diving Championships

 

November 13, 15, 16 & 17

Entry fees:      $4 per individual entry, $12 per relay event

Members of the Athletic Director’s Agreement will pay a maximum of $50 per girl’s team and $50 per boy’s team.

 

Entries:            Maximum of 2 Relays, 4 Individuals/per event/per team.

Maximum of 4 events per person, no more than two of which may be individual events.

 

                        Each team should bring 2 timers and 1 official to the Prelim site

 

Advancers:      The top 16, eight in consolations and eight in finals, will advance to the Saturday Finals session.  The times from each event from all Prelim Sites will be compared and the advancers will be chosen.  The list of qualifiers will be posted on the Don Cook Natatorium website; www.fortbendisd.com/natatorium

 

Awards:           Without a sponsor there will be no awards.  If a sponsor becomes available the awards will be (in the order that they will be purchased):

                                                                  i.      Individual pin for each entrant commemorating the event

                                                             ii.      Team (G, B) 1-5

                                                            iii.      Individual and relays 1-8

 

Deadlines:       Indicate your desire to compete by e-mail, FAX or call right away, that way we can get the teams assigned to the preliminary sites correctly.

Public or private school teams with sponsors (not employed coaches) must have a school administrator verify desire to enter by signing the entry sheets.  

Individual, relay and diving entry sheets are due no later than Monday, November 12^th.  All entries are to go to the preliminary site meet director.  See preliminary site director’s information sheet on the Don Cook Natatorium web site.

DIVING

Dates:              Prelims:           Tuesday November 13           TBA                 WU-2:00 PM Start-4:00 PM

Finals:              Friday  November 16             Don Cook        WU-3:00 PM Start-5:00 PM     

 

Format:           One meter diving only

                        11 dive championship format

 

Finals:  Girls and boys will dive at the same time with separate judging panels 

                                      All warm-ups from 3:00 PM – 4:50PM  (Finals)

 

Entry:              All dive sheets need to be sent to the diving prelim site by Monday, November 12.   

Each diver must be able to do a complete 11 dive list

Maximum of 4 divers from any school

Divers qualifying for finals will do the same list as in prelims – no changes allowed 

 

Advancing:      Top 2 finishers from each prelim site and next best scores to total 16 participants will advance to finals
