Position: Head Swimming Coach
Mansfield ISD is seeking a head swimming coach for Mansfield High School. Mansfield High School has a history of success, with the boy’s team finishing as district champions 7 of the last 10 years and the girl’s team finishing as district champions 6 of the last 10 years; multiple top 5 regional finishes, and numerous state qualifiers. Mansfield High School shares the 65m x 25y MISD Natatorium with three other MISD high schools. The facility has state of the art Daktronics timing system and video boards, as well as an on-site weight room and seating for 1,000 spectators.
Mansfield ISD is near the top for teacher salaries in the DFW Metroplex, and the coaching stipend is $6,000 + 10 days. The MISD salary schedule can be found at www.mansfieldisd.org.
MISD also contributes $250 toward health insurance. In addition, club coaching positions with the MISD operated USA Swimming club team are available.
Teaching field is PE. MISD is on a 4 period/day, block schedule. The daily schedule is as follows: 1st block – Varsity Swimming, 2nd block – High School PE Swimming, 3rd block – Conf., 4th block – JV Swimming.

Position start date is tentatively August 30th.Candidate will provide competitive swimming instructions to swim team members 18 years and younger; organizes and conducts team workouts; may supervise other coaches as assigned; organizes and administers all assigned coaching responsibilities, including daily practices, recruiting, record keeping and scheduling; develops positive relationships with team members and provides motivational support and guidance; increases team member awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors and YMCA values; may supervise assistant coaches; recruits prospective members and provides information about YMCA membership and swim team fee structure; attends staff meetings and trainings as required; follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures; completes incident and accident reports as necessary; attends swim meets and swim team functions as agreed upon with supervisor; accountable for discipline and conduct of team members at these events; encourages member and parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers; assist with maintenance of pool chemicals/clarity to ensure safety of swimmers; order supplies needed for swim meets.
